Based on the UNECE Competency Matrix for Sustainable Development
In the early stage of the development on the framework two aspects stood out: 1) content; 2) distribution of the content. The UNECE Competency Matrix for Sustainable Development was designed for educators and offered an excellent guideline to develop content and conceptualise its distribution.
The matrix describes comptencies in the areas awareness, knowledge, skills, values and cooperation set out against the dimensions past, present and future. The frameworks' building blocks to create games and programs has embedded the structure of the matrix into the core of its design. Together with the content development method the framework provides sustainable development as a result no matter the topic.
